Mei Chen, Ph. D.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n My research areas are matrix theory and numerical methods in linear algebra and optimization. I am currently working on mathematical modeling with large data sets using regression methods. Approximation errors are analyzed to improve the models. The developed methods have been implemented in MatLab for some real-world applications in COVID-19 and climate change. I am also working on mathematical modeling using systems of linear and nonlinear differential equations for ecosystem changes and pandemic. <\/p>\n\n\n\n David Edwards, Ph. D.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n My primary research is focused on applied statistics and data science. I am always eager to collaborate with highly motivated students who have a keen interest in working on and solving interesting problems. The beauty of mathematics knows no bounds. However, my research is primarily focused on combinatorics. Additionally, I have a strong interest in elementary number theory. D.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n My research aims to solve feature selection and change-point detection in high-dimensional data analysis. ÌÇÐÄVLOGs who are interested in this topic are welcome to stop by my office and get more information\/ideas about it. Past research projects include: <\/p>\n\n\n\n Bo Li, Ph. D. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n I have been primarily interested in the resampling schemes in nonparametric and semiparametric models, by their \u201calmost\u201d minimal to moderate distributional assumptions in data analysis. In particular, the topics are rank statistics, multiple comparisons, quasi-likelihood estimation method, generalized linear models, microarray gene expression data analysis, and RNA sequencing gene expression data analysis. In addition, I have been interested in computational statistics, high-dimensional data analysis, and student research in real-world applications. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Jeffrey Lyons, Ph. D. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n My research focuses on the qualitive study of ordinary differential, dynamic, and difference equations. I have collaborated with several undergraduate students on peer-reviewed publications. Some past student projects include: <\/p>\n\n\n\n Antara Mukherjee, Ph. D.<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n My research area is mainly geometric group theory and number theory. I often mentor student research projects. I often mentor student research projects. Past student projects include<\/p>\n\n\n\n Todd Wittman, Ph.D.<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n My research focuses on applying optimization techniques and differential equations to image processing and other problems in mathematical modeling. I am very happy to work with any student interested in applied mathematics. Some past student projects I have supervised include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n Li Zhang, Ph.D.<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n My research interests are broad and continue to expand to areas in applied mathematics, mathematics, mathematical education and analytics. My recent work includes mathematical modeling, combinatorial design problems, mathematical education and management science\/decision science\/operations research, which are detailed in my CV<\/a>. I have worked with students on their projects, some of which were published in a journal or a conference proceedings, while others were presented in conferences or locally.
