Dr. Adriana Boersner-Herrera
Assistant Professor
Born and raised in Caracas, Venezuela, Dr. Boersner-Herrera is an Assistant Professor of Political Science in the department of Political Science. She teaches International Politics, Comparative Politics, Latin American Affairs, Global Democracy, Seminar in Social Sciences, and Democracy and Dictatorship. Dr. Boersner Herrera received her bachelor鈥檚 degree in international studies from Universidad Central de Venezuela and her master鈥檚 degree in political science from Universidad Sim贸n Bol铆var. In 2013, she was awarded a Fulbright scholarship to pursue a Ph.D. in Political Science at the University of Missouri, with a major in international politics and a minor in comparative politics.
She has published in English, Spanish, and German in outlets such as Demokratizatsiya: The Journal of Post-Soviet Democratization, Global Studies Quarterly, Journal of Democracy, Latin American Policy, London School of Economics blogs, Revista de Ciencia Pol铆tica, Nueva Sociedad, and Oxford Bibliographies in Political Science. Her work has also appeared with Nomos Verlagsgesellschaft mbH & Co., Palgrave Macmillan, Routledge, and she has provided commentary to ABC (Spain), BBC Radio, Deutsche Welle, El Comercio (Peru), El Nacional (Venezuela), El Pitazo (Venezuela), Expresso (Portugal), Tal Cual (Venezuela), Univision, 痴别膷别谤&苍产蝉辫;(Slovenia), and Voice of America.
