Dr. Adriana Boersner-Herrera<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Assistant Professor<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Born and raised in Caracas, Venezuela, Dr. Boersner-Herrera is an Assistant Professor of Political Science in the department of Political Science. She teaches International Politics, Comparative Politics, Latin American Affairs, Global Democracy, Seminar in Social Sciences, and Democracy and Dictatorship. Dr. Boersner Herrera received her bachelor\u2019s degree in international studies from Universidad Central de Venezuela and her master\u2019s degree in political science from Universidad Sim\u00f3n Bol\u00edvar. In 2013, she was awarded a Fulbright scholarship to pursue a Ph.D. in Political Science at the University of Missouri, with a major in international politics and a minor in comparative politics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She has published in English, Spanish, and German in outlets such as Demokratizatsiya: The Journal of Post-Soviet Democratization<\/em>, Global Studies Quarterly<\/em>, Journal of Democracy<\/em>, Latin American Policy<\/em>, London School of Economics blogs,<\/em> Revista de Ciencia Pol\u00edtica<\/em>, Nueva Sociedad<\/em>, and Oxford Bibliographies in Political Science<\/em>. Her work has also appeared with Nomos Verlagsgesellschaft mbH & Co., Palgrave Macmillan, Routledge, and she has provided commentary to ABC<\/em> (Spain), BBC Radio<\/em>, Deutsche Welle<\/em>, El Comercio<\/em> (Peru), El Nacional<\/em> (Venezuela), El Pitazo<\/em> (Venezuela), Expresso<\/em> (Portugal), Tal Cual<\/em> (Venezuela), Univision<\/em>, Ve\u010der <\/em>(Slovenia), and Voice of America<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
