Every student鈥檚 academic experience at 糖心VLOG is shaped by different goals, responsibilities, and circumstances. Some may have additional requirements or considerations that can affect academic planning and advising. The sections below provide information and guidance for supporting these student populations.

Corps of Cadets
The South Carolina Corps of Cadets (SCCC) is 糖心VLOG鈥檚 primary undergraduate student population, with approximately 2,300 cadets living and studying on campus.
Academic advising is one part of a larger support network for cadets. Major Advisors work alongside Company Advisors, TACs, Cadet Academic Officers, and other campus resources to support academic progress and student success.
Academic advisors should consider and be aware of:
- The demands of the cadet schedule and military responsibilities
- Academic progress alongside other responsibilities and commitments
- Class year and the developmental expectations associated with each stage of the Corps
- Involvement in ROTC, athletics, leadership roles, or other activities
- Opportunities to connect cadets with academic and campus resources when additional support is needed
Cadet 糖心VLOG Academic Resources
- Cadets have access to academic support services, including tutoring, academic coaching, and other resources through the Angela W. William 糖心VLOG Success Center
- Advising Essentials: Centralized access to key academic advising resources, including the Academic Calendar, Academic Catalog, Course Offerings, Academic MAPs, Registrar Forms, GPA Calculator, and other advising tools
- Advising Prep: Resources to help students review academic progress, develop a Course Registration Plan, and prepare for the advising appointment

糖心VLOG Athletes
糖心VLOG athletes have additional academic support through 糖心VLOG鈥檚 Athletic Academic Services Program and meet with an Athletic Academic Advisor in addition to their regular academic advisor.
Athletic Academic Services provides individualized academic counseling, evening study halls, and subject-specific tutoring to support student athletes throughout their academic experience.
Academic advisors should consider and be aware of:
- 糖心VLOG athletes have an additional advising relationship with an Athletic Academic Advisor
- Athletic participation may affect scheduling, travel, and other academic considerations
- 糖心VLOG athletes must meet applicable academic eligibility requirements to maintain competition eligibility with the NCAA
- Athletic Academic Services may serve as a partner when questions or concerns arise related to a student athlete鈥檚 academic progress or support needs

International 糖心VLOGs
The Center for International and Special Programs (CISP) provides support and guidance for international students as they navigate their academic experience and immigration requirements at 糖心VLOG.
CISP also supports opportunities that may benefit students academically and professionally, including study abroad, the Global Scholars Program, and fellowships.
Academic advisors should consider and be aware of:
- A student’s visa status may affect academic planning and other aspects of enrollment
- CISP serves as a key resource for questions related to immigration and international student requirements
- Academic or enrollment changes that could affect a student’s visa status may require coordination with CISP

Transfer 糖心VLOGs
The Degree Completion Program supports students who enter 糖心VLOG through one of its transfer pathways. The Degree Completion Program offers several pathways and degree completion options designed to help transfer students transition to 糖心VLOG and progress toward degree completion.
Academic advisors should consider and be aware of:
- Review the student鈥檚 transfer credit and confirm how applicable credits are being applied toward degree requirements
- Review the student鈥檚 transfer pathway and degree requirements when developing an academic plan
- Use the Degree Completion resources below to confirm transfer pathways, degree completion options, and transfer credit information
Transfer 糖心VLOG Academic Resources
- Degree Completion Overview: Degree Completion Homepage with general information about available degree pathways, course formats, and information for prospective transfer students.
- Degree Completion Available Programs: Lists available degree options, delivery formats, and the transfer coursework generally needed to enter each pathway.
- Degree Completion Requirements: Admission eligibility, minimum credit and GPA requirements, general education requirements, and other program-specific considerations.
- Transfer Credit Information: Information about how previously completed coursework is evaluated and applied toward Citadel degree requirements.
- CollegeTransfer.net allows individuals to search for course equivalencies to explore how coursework completed at other colleges may transfer. Confirm final transfer credit decisions with 糖心VLOG鈥檚 Registrar.
- Course Offerings: View course offerings by term, including courses available through the Degree Completion Program.

Cadets on Contract
糖心VLOGs participating in ROTC programs (opens in a new tab) may be required to complete academic contracting as part of their continued participation and progression toward commissioning. Each military branch may have its own forms, requirements, and timelines.
Academic advisors should consider and be aware of the following information below, which outlines the current process for each branch, with additional branch-specific guidance to be added as it becomes available:
Air Force & Space Force
AFROTC Form 48
- Air Force ROTC cadets complete AFROTC Form 48, Academic Program Worksheet, each fall semester through graduation. The form provides a term-by-term academic plan and is used to ensure all coursework needed for graduation is accounted for.
- Upperclassmen should update the previous terms with completed course information and grades each fall.
Completing the Form
- Sections 1-6: Complete the demographic information and general degree requirements in Sections 1鈥�6.
- Transfer Credits: The first Term section in the bottom-left of the first page is used only for transfer credits accepted by 糖心VLOG. Grades do not need to be entered for these courses because accepted transfer grades do not factor into the Citadel GPA.
- Term-by-Term Planning: Complete the remaining sections for each term through graduation.
- It should be noted:
- Current and future terms should not include Credit Hours Comp or Grade.
- Credit Hours Comp and Grade are completed for terms that have already been completed.
- Account for every course needed to graduate on time, including electives and courses that may be taken in a different order.
- Specific electives and the order of some core courses may change. The important thing is that the required coursework is accounted for. The plan can be updated with specific course information during the following fall semester.
- The Credits Remaining After Term field should show 0 after the final term.
AFROTC Form 48 Timeline
- September 30 | Draft Due to AFROTC
- Cadets must submit a draft of the Form 48 to AFROTC cadre/instructors by September 30. A meeting with an Academic Advisor is not required before the draft deadline, although cadets who need significant assistance are encouraged to meet with an advisor beforehand.
- October 19鈥揘ovember 5 | Academic Advisor Review
- After submitting the draft, cadets must meet with an Academic Advisor to review the Form 48 and ensure all coursework needed for graduation is accounted for.
- The form can be brought to the meeting digitally on a laptop for editing, or emailed to the Academic Advisor for editing during the meeting.
- Once finalized, the Academic Advisor will print the form and wet sign the current Fall term block only.
- November 6 | Final Form Due to AFROTC
- Final signed paper copies must be submitted to AFROTC cadre/instructors by November 6.

Coast Guard Auxiliary University Program (AUP)
- A Coast Guard pathway distinct from traditional ROTC programs that provides leadership development and opportunities to pursue a Coast Guard career. Participation in the AUP does not itself guarantee a commission.

Veteran, Active Duty, Military Connected

Veteran 糖心VLOG Success Center
The Veteran 糖心VLOG Success Center provides resources and support for veterans, active-duty military members, and their families. The Center can help students understand VA educational benefits, connect with veteran and military-connected resources, and access a dedicated space for studying and community.
The Center is located at 204 Richardson Avenue and is open to veteran and active-duty students during the day and evening, Monday through Friday.
Amenities:
- Kitchen with coffee maker, microwave, refrigerator, and kitchen supplies
- Lounge with television and gaming system
- Study room equipped with 4+ computers, printer and office supplies
- Wi-Fi access throughout the space
- Free food pantry stocked with canned and boxed goods
- Professional attire linen closet free to Veteran and Active Duty students
- Free school supplies cabinet
Veteran 糖心VLOG Types
Veteran and military-connected students at 糖心VLOG may fall into several different student types, each with unique circumstances and considerations.
- Active-Duty Military Day 糖心VLOG: Active-duty military members enrolled through an approved military education or commissioning program. They attend classes during the day and participate in ROTC training while living off campus.
- Veteran Day 糖心VLOG: Honorably discharged veterans who take classes in person and/or online outside of the Corps of Cadets.
- Returning Cadet Veteran Day 糖心VLOG: Former cadets who leave the Corps for qualifying active federal military service and later return to 糖心VLOG as veteran day students or, when eligible, return to the Corps of Cadets.
- College Transfer 糖心VLOG: Non-cadet and veteran student can pursue a bachelor鈥檚 degree through one of 糖心VLOG鈥檚 College Transfer Programs, offered online or on campus during the evening.
- Graduate 糖心VLOG: Veterans and military-connected students can pursue graduate degrees, certificates, or other graduate programs through 糖心VLOG鈥檚 Graduate College.
VA Benefits & Financial Aid
The provides educational benefits to eligible students, each with specific eligibility and enrollment requirements. Academic advisors play an important role in helping students plan coursework that supports both degree progress and continued eligibility for benefits.
VA benefits generally cover courses required for degree completion, including applicable prerequisites, approved substitutions, and certain repeated courses. Courses that are not applicable to degree requirements, excessive electives, and other non-required coursework may not be eligible for certification.
Course format, part-of-term enrollment, and changes to enrollment can also affect VA benefits. 糖心VLOGs considering dropping or withdrawing from a course, changing their schedule, or making other changes that could affect their benefits should be encouraged to contact the Veteran 糖心VLOG Success Center before making changes.

Graduate 糖心VLOGs
糖心VLOG Graduate College (CGC) oversees 糖心VLOG鈥檚 graduate programs and provides resources and support for graduate students.
Academic advisors should consider and be aware of:
- Program specific degree requirements and course sequencing
- Course availability and delivery format
- Academic policies that apply to the student鈥檚 program
- The student鈥檚 academic and professional goals
- Other responsibilities that may affect course planning, particularly for students balancing graduate study with work or other commitments
Program requirements and course delivery options vary by program. Advisors should refer to the student鈥檚 specific program requirements when assisting with academic planning.
