Internships let you take what you’ve learned in class and apply it in career industry settings. Doing at least one internship is an important part of your education. Below, you’ll find ÌÇÐÄVLOG’s internship process, requirements, places to apply, and all the forms you’ll need. You’ll also see details about ÌÇÐÄVLOG Internship Award Funding.

Four Steps for Academic Credit Internships
1. Check Requirements
Understand your department’s requirements for internship courses.
2. Secure an Internship
Find internships using job boards such as Handshake, schedule an internship appointment with our staff, or reach out through faculty advisors.
3. Complete the Internship Agreement Form
Gather the necessary information and submit your documents.
*Please note that the Business School uses a form provided by Mr. Swartwood.
4. Register for an Internship Course
Enroll into the course related to your degree through the Registrar’s Office.
Find an Internship
- Polish Your LinkedIn Profile.
Update your photo, headline, and experience section. Connect with alumni and ask for advice. - Use Your Network.
Talk to family, friends, mentors, professors, and other students. - Search Online.
Utilize the following job boards:

On-Campus Opportunities/Federal Work Study
Campus opportunities give valuable experience and may count as internships (depending on department).
Work Hour Limits:
- Cadets: up to 10 hrs/week
- 5th year, veterans, evening undergraduates: up to 20 hrs/week
- Graduate students: up to 20 hrs/week
How to Start:
- Check eligibility with Office of Financial Aid – financial_aid@citadel.edu (Bond Hall 138)
- Once approved, contact Human Resources – hr@citadel.edu (97 Hagood Ave)
- Complete HR forms and get supervisor signatures
