Readspeaker in Canvas

We are excited to announce the integration of ReadSpeaker into our Canvas platform. ReadSpeaker is a text-to-speech tool designed to make course content more accessible. This feature is now available to all Canvas users and can be accessed on any device with an internet connection.

How to Access ReadSpeaker in Canvas: The ReadSpeaker listen icon at the bottom left of the course enables user to listen to content to be read out loud to them.

How to Use ReadSpeaker:

  1. Listen Icon:聽The speaker icon will activate the listen button.
  2. Activate the Listen Button:聽Drag the volume arrows to move the Listen button to the desired position.
  1. Adjust the Listen Button:聽Click on 鈥?鈥 to learn how to use the button.
  1. Access Help:聽The settings button will let you set individual preferences for settings, including reading speed, highlighting colors, text magnifying, and automatic scrolling.
  1. Customize Settings:聽Click the play button to play or pause the audio
  1. Control Audio Playback:聽Click the stop button to stop the audio
  1. Collapse/Hide Listen Button Options:聽Click the double arrows to collapse/hide the Listen button options
